$500 per academic year ($250 per semester) not to exceed tuition & fees

Qualifications

  • Must indicate first-generation college student on admissions application by designating they come from a family in which neither parent/guardian earned a bachelor’s degree
  • Maintain involvement in FGCS through at least one of the following:
    • Attend one meeting per semester and/or
    • Attend a special FGCS event
  • Demonstrate cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher or a minimum GED score of 2900
  • Minimum of half-time enrollment (6+ credit hours)
  • Seeking a degree at OTC

Renewal Criteria

Scholarship is awarded for one school year (Fall/Spring).  Student must apply each academic year and participate in an FGCS scholarship interview by a Review Committee which includes FGCS advisors and scholarship committee members that will consider need, academic ability, and service experiences
