Students must submit a request each semester they need our office to certify enrollment to the VA. Please ONLY submit your request after you have registered for classes. We begin certifying for a particular term 45 days prior to the start date. Please work with your College Navigator to make sure your courses are required for your program of study. If there is a question about your class enrollment, we will contact you via OTC Student Email.

After you apply for VA Education Benefits at VA.gov, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) letter. Please submit a copy to the Veterans and Military Services Office in person or via email at Veterans@otc.edu.

The Missouri Returning Heroes Act, Section 173.900, RSMo, provides for reduced tuition for certain combat veterans attending public institutions of higher education. Student soldiers must secure approval for Fed Tuition Assistance from their Education Services Office (ESO) BEFORE the semester begins and submit at least one document for State Tuition Assistance BEFORE the semester begins.

Note: Fed TA Requests may be submitted up to 60 days prior but must be submitted at least SEVEN days prior to the course Start Date to ensure Fed TA Requests are processed and approved PRIOR to a Course Start Date.

Children between 18 and 23 years of age must submit a school enrollment certification letter confirming student status. This is required in order to continue eligibility for CHAMPVA benefits. OTC appreciates our military community. In order to best serve our Active Duty Servicemembers and their eligible family members, we have made an Active Military Tuition Rate available upon annual request.

 

Rates for the 2024 – 2025 academic year are as follows*:

–Tier I Classes = $159/hour
–Tier II Classes = $199/hour
–Tier III Classes = $244/hour
*General Fees are not assessed. Please note: Program fees, like those for Nursing, Dental Assisting/Hygiene, Aviation, Electrical Distribution, and Welding Programs, etc. are not waived.

 

Guidelines for Requesting Active Military Tuition Rate:

>>>Be an active Military Service Personnel, or an activated Reserves or National Guard

>>>Or, be an eligible family member of an active Military Service Member

>>>Show an unexpired DoD Identification Card (NEVER SCAN OR EMAIL THIS)

>>>Submit request prior to the end of the 100% refund period for the earliest term of enrollment

    1. Refer to the OTC website for refund period dates
    2. Requests submitted after the 100% refund period will take affect the following semester and are not retroactive
    3. Active Military rate will be removed at the end of each academic year
