National Disability Employment Awareness Month Events

Civil Rights & Employment: A conversation with Claire Fitzgerald about advancing access and equality for those with disabilities. Ms. Fitzgerald is an Attorney with the Office for Civil Rights in Kansas City.

Employer Panel Discussion: A panel of local employers discuss what they are doing to encourage persons with disabilities to apply for jobs at their place of employment.  They share the types of accommodations they provide to employees with disabilities, and their successes and challenges in granting those accommodations.

Business Dining Etiquette: Lisa Gardner, Department Chair for the Hospitality and Culinary Arts programs at Ozarks Tech, presents a session about business dining etiquette.

Resume & Interview Help: Disability Support Services and Career Services staff provide tips on resumes and how to have successful interviews. They address questions such as if/when you should disclose a disability to an employer, when and how to request an accommodation, and more.

Alumni Panel Discussion: Hear from others that have graduated from Ozarks Tech and entered the workforce. Alumni discuss their journey to employment after graduation.
