Many people go to college, pick a major and look forward to an exciting career only to be disappointed. Many enter their chosen field only to experience frustration. Some causes of this are lower than expected wage, poor job satisfaction, lack of knowledge about the daily routine of a particular job. Or, sometimes students chose an industry in which few jobs are available.

OTC provides the links below in order to assist with forming realistic expectations about careers. For instance, we provide information on expected wages and projected job growth in various industries. See our Graduate Follow-Up Report for information about the rates at which recent OTC Graduates were able to find jobs related to their program of study. Students should consider this information in light of and compared with projected growth in these fields through 2032, as outlined in the 2024 Economic Report for the Southwest Region.
