Free Summer Coaching

Our OTC Esports coaches are available for free coaching sessions during the summer. Whether you’re a current or prospective OTC student or part of our larger K12 esports community, you’re welcome to work with our staff to improve your skills.

These camps are open to any high school or college student who wants to prepare, communicate, and grow in their competitive experiences while developing skills in their game.

Rocket League

Coach Trevor Long

Specializing in Rocket League, coach Long has been playing since release in 2015 and began competing at Drury University in 2017. He has achieved the high rank, super Sonic Legend, throughout multiple seasons and continues to coach teams across the country as well as at Ozarks Technical Community College. Coming from a traditional sports background, he focuses on mastering the fundamentals and explaining concepts in various ways in hopes of connecting with students.

Super Smash Bros (SSBU)

Coach Patrick Mitchell

Patrick is a long time fighting game player from Springfield, Missouri. He has competed and ran tournaments since 2016, competing in smash titles such as Smash 4, Ultimate and Melee, as well as traditional fighters such as Injustice 2, Street Fighter 6, and Guilty Gear Strive. Patrick has coached many successful teams against some of the countries best smash colleges, going 6-1 in Varsity Premier for Smash in Fall 2023.

Patrick also enjoys other games such as Dota 2 and AOE 4. He also enjoys traveling to events, typically attending Frosty Faustings and Combo Breaker each year in Chicago.

Valorant / Overwatch 2

Coach Ethan Mitchell

Ethan Mitchell is currently coaching Valorant and Overwatch for OTC, as well as competing in Valorant at Drury University. Additionally, I’ve worked with aim communities such as Voltaic and won the MOSEF overwatch state championship in 2021
