FAQ

Who can attend?

These sessions are open to high school students entering 9th grade through those who will be seniors this year. If you are a homeschool student who is equivalent, please feel free to sign up.

What do the sessions cost?

These sessions are free. There is no cost for attending.

Can I bring my friend / sibling / other person..?

We are only able to accommodate the student who has signed up and been accepted for their camp session. Please do not bring guests, friends, siblings, or other persons who have not signed up or been accepted as we’ll have to ask them to leave.

Can I bring my parent / guardian / chaperone ?

Parents, guardians, chaperones, or other such people are welcome to come with you to campus. However, based on the number of students in the session there may not be room in the esports arena for them to stay in the room. If this is the case, they will be welcome to sit at the table outside or in any of the student lounge spaces on campus.

What if I sign up and then change my mind?

If you wish to remove your registration from consideration please email us at esports@otc.edu and let us know.

Can I attend more than one game session?

We will allow students to sign up for more than one game session however, you may only be registered for one session based on registration demand in order to allow the maximum number of participants. If you have a first choice, we recommend that you sign up for that session before registering for others.

Why do you require a recommendation letter?

OTC Esports is offering a small number of students the free opportunity to work with us and we’re looking for students who are serious about their esport and improving their skills.  Each game session will be packed with content developed by our coaches on specific game skills, team building, communication, and college sportsmanship.

What do I need on my recommendation letter?

We prefer your recommendation letter comes from your current esports coach if you have been working with them. If not or your school doesn’t have esports, a letter from a counselor, teacher, sports coach, or another trusted person would be welcome. We would love to hear about your attendance, school work, accomplishments, goals, hobbies, and any other information they would like to include let us know who you are.

Can I attend the camp remotely?

We are not offering a remote option for these sessions. Each game block is two full days 8 am – 4 pm at the Esports Arena at OTC in Springfield
