We understand that not all students have access to WiFi or internet from their homes, and we understand the inconvenience this brings to you and we greatly appreciate your patience at this time. All OTC campuses will be closed March 20th, 2020 thru March 29th, 2020 and therefore students will not be able to utilize our computer labs or kiosk stations at that time. However, when we reopen campus on March 30th, 2020 students will be able to utilize our computer labs, kiosks stations, and will be able to connect to our WiFi from their personal devices. We will also have WiFi Hot Spots set up in the parking lots if you would like to connect to the WiFi from your car and complete your work from there. You can also connect to free WiFi sources from various places around town (Ex. McDonalds, Library Stations, Panera Bread, etc.) Once again we greatly appreciate your patience during this transition, and we urge you to email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions or concerns.
Registration for Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 courses will open on April 21st. At this time we still have seated and online sections available for registration. If we are notified by the CDC that classes are still needing to be held online at that time, rather than in person, then we will transition the seated courses to an online format the same way we are doing for the current Spring 2020 semester. If the course is unable to be transitioned to an online course, then we will still have the seated option available for those select courses.
You can still drop/withdraw from courses through your Student Planning center in MyOTC. Just log into your MyOTC account, click “Student Planning,” then “Go to Plan and Register.” Once you are there, you will see your courses listed, and each course should have a “drop” button. Once you click it, you will then select a reason as to why you are dropping the course and then submit. The course will remain on your schedule as a “Planned” course, but you will no longer be actively registered in it. If you have any issues with this process please email email@example.com and we will be able to assist you. We will be monitoring all of our emails during the campus closure.
Our financial aid staff will be working diligently to make sure all financial aid files are still getting completed on time. However, it is still the student’s responsibility to submit all required documents to our financial aid office (you can find your required documents in the “Financial Aid” tab through your MyOTC account). Financial aid funds and Student Account refunds are still set to be distributed on time. If you are curious about when you will receive a refund off of a subsidized or unsubsidized loan, please refer to the Right to Cancel email that was sent to your OTC email account. If you have any issues with your financial aid or have any additional questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back with you as soon as we can. We will be monitoring all of our emails during the campus closure.
Refunds will be continuing as scheduled.
Attendance in an online course is defined as active participation in an academically-related activity. Checking attendance in Canvas
