A special distinction is awarded to students who demonstrate high scholarship in completing a certificate and/or associate degree. Honors are conferred according to the requirements in effect at the time of admission to OTC (or at time of readmission if the student was not enrolled for more than one calendar year).

Upon completion of your academic program, scholastic honors will be granted based on the OTC Cumulative grade point average as follows:

  • GPA of 3.50 – 3.84 — Cum Laude
  • GPA of 3.85 – 3.99 — Magna Cum Laude
  • GPA of 4.00 — Summa Cum Laude

The OTC cumulative GPA at the end of the preceding semester will be utilized by the Registrar to rank the candidates for associate degrees and certificates for scholastic honors. Honors will be posted to the transcript and diploma.

Questions concerning eligibility for scholastic honors should be directed to the Registrar’s Office.
