FAFSA: Start Early, Plan Ahead

Important Reminders

The 2015-16 FAFSA (for fall 2015, spring 2016 and summer 2016) is available online. We wanted to make you aware of a few items so you can plan ahead for the 2015-16 year.

Start Early

Get started early filing your 2015-16 FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov.  If you submitted your 2014 Federal IRS tax for for at least (2) weeks ago, you can complete your FAFSA now. For students with a valid FAFSA result received by OTC and awards completed by May 1, the Department of Education will give consideration to Federal Pell Grant eligible students for Federal SEOG (Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant) awards.  Starting early allows you to find out what kind of financial aid you will have, so you can plan your fall semester.

Need Help?

You can get assistance completing your FAFSA in addition to enrollment and registration processes. Go to the Student Services Lab, located in ICW108A on the Springfield campus for help. The lab is open between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-4:30pm on Friday. No appointment is necessary.

Free Money Fridays

Now and until classes begin for fall 2015, staff are available in the Student Services Lab in ICW108A. They are there to assist you with FAFSA completion and other questions.
